Our Story

"I still tell people that my grandmother's prayers are what worked. She prayed all the time, diligently. If it wasn't for my grandparents, I don't think that I would be in the place that I am right now. I love my mom, too. I do. I thank her for giving me life. I was most blessed to be able to take care of my grandparents as they died of cancer. It was all about helping, for me. They showed me the love that most parents should, because they're the ones that did take care of me and I’d do it all over again.

I opened Helping Others in November. My desire is to help people like God intended for me to do. Our prices are set at a reasonable rate, knowing that we’re helping people. We need more of that here in the community. Trying to help people on a daily basis. That's basically what it’s all about and intended for. Help people that are in need.

The majority of our prices are $5 and below when it comes to our apparel items. If someone is out there looking for a job and they need to be professional. They can come here and know that they're going to buy something that's a reasonable, affordable price. If they can afford it, we will make it affordable for them.

Another thing we do is book awareness for kids. Children can come in here and get books for free. If they love to read they can pick out as many books as they want. These were donated and we want to make sure that kids are reading and parents are getting up and reading with their children too.

We accept donations including clothes, toys, furniture, and of course, non-perishable food items, all for and given to people that are in need.

Our hours of operation are Mondays through Saturday from 11am to 5pm. However, it doesn't matter when tragedy hits, I want people to know that they can come here and they can pick stuff freely. Helping Others can help you. Even if I’m not open, just give me a call. I work with my customers directly, because I like to make sure they are getting exactly what they need."
